We are True Homecare, a home care agency supporting adults in their own homes in Cheadle and across Stockport. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Our starting point is the person's own account of their life rather than an assessment form. What is still manageable, what has become difficult, what they miss doing and what they would rather we left alone. A plan built from that conversation is far more useful, and it tends to be one people actually agree with. Support ranges from a short daily call covering washing, dressing and medication, through to several longer visits taking in meals, personal care, mobility, household tasks and getting out. We also provide reliable cover for family carers who need a proper break. Neither happens by luck, so we plan our rounds to protect both and tell people in advance when a regular carer is away. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
