We are Loch Healthcare, a home care team working across Southwark and the surrounding parts of London. We support adults in their own homes with the everyday things that can become difficult, from personal care and medication to meals, household routines and getting out into the community. Our work covers a broad range. We support older people and those living with dementia, where consistency and a calm, familiar approach matter more than anything else. We support adults living with mental health needs, where the emphasis is often on routine, on early signs that things are changing and on building confidence rather than dependence. We also work with people who have a physical disability and with those living with a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we communicate and how we help someone move around their home so that it stays their space rather than becoming a clinical one. Younger adults form part of our work too, and we plan that support around education, employment and the life someone wants to lead. London is a busy place and it is easy for people to feel overlooked in it. We try to work against that by turning up when we say we will, by keeping the same carers with the same people wherever the rota allows, and by talking plainly with families about what is going well and what is not.
