About Volsec Healthcare
Volsec Healthcare provides support in people's own homes in Southend on Sea and the surrounding area. We work with younger adults and with adults who have a learning disability or autism, people living with mental ill health and people with physical disabilities. Our work is built around the idea that people should be running their own lives with support behind them rather than having their lives run for them. So we start with what somebody wants their week to look like, what they want to do for themselves and what they genuinely need help with, and we plan from there. Where a decision is difficult, our job is to help somebody make it rather than to make it on their behalf. In practice that covers help with daily living and personal care, support to manage money, appointments and paperwork, getting out to work, college, a club or to see family, and keeping a tenancy and a routine going through a difficult stretch. A good deal of our effort goes into communication. Where somebody uses signs, symbols, a communication aid or a personal set of gestures, we learn it, record it and make sure every member of staff works the same way. That needs consistent staffing, so we keep teams small and we listen when somebody says a match is not right. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
