The support we propose comes out of those answers rather than out of a standard list. Visits may involve help to get up, wash and dress, prompting or assisting with medication, preparing meals and encouraging somebody to eat and drink properly, help to move safely about the home, laundry and shopping, or getting out to appointments and into the town. For people living with dementia we keep the carers and the timings as consistent as possible, because familiarity does more good than anything else we can offer. We agree the plan with the person, put it in writing and review it as things change. Our carers are trained for the needs they will meet and are properly supervised, and families can always reach somebody who knows the situation.
