About Thornhill Health Care

Thornhill Health Care supports older people and younger adults in their own homes across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Nearly everyone who contacts us wants the same thing, which is to carry on living where they are. Our role is to make that practical rather than to take anything over. Depending on what is needed, that could be one call each morning to help somebody wash, dress and get the day started, several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer periods of support where needs are more constant. The first conversation is where the work really starts. We want to know how the day usually runs, what has become difficult, and what the person can still do perfectly well and would rather we left to them. People tend to be very clear about that, and respecting it is as much the job as the tasks we take on. For younger adults, our work is often less about personal care and more about keeping an ordinary week on track, from appointments and paperwork to getting out to work or study. Continuity is where we put our effort, because a familiar carer makes every part of this work better. We keep visit times as steady as rotas allow. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us to talk things through.
