About Quality First and Foremost Care

We are a home care agency working in South Gloucestershire and the Bristol area, supporting people in their own homes. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Needs that varied cannot be met from a standard package, so we begin by asking what somebody wants help with and what they would rather keep doing for themselves. For an older person that is often personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house in order. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, managing money and keeping appointments. Where someone is living with dementia, a familiar carer who knows their habits matters more than anything written in a plan. We put effort into sending the same carers to the same households. It spares people from explaining themselves repeatedly and it means somebody is likely to notice when a person is unwell or low in spirits. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach senior colleagues for advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that with anyone considering us. If you are looking into care at home, please get in touch for an honest conversation.
