Our purpose is a simple one: to make staying at home a safe and workable option for people who would far rather not move. We support older adults with the everyday things that have become difficult: personal care, medication, meals, keeping the house in order and getting out safely when they want to. We support people living with dementia, and we have found that what helps most is not complicated, so we concentrate on continuity: the same familiar worker, arriving when expected, with the patience to do things the way the person has always done them. We work with people living with mental health conditions, where a steady relationship and staff who notice early changes make the real difference, and with people who have physical disabilities, helping with washing, dressing and mobility while leaving the person in charge of how things are done. We keep the number of different workers visiting each person as small as we can manage, because familiarity lets people relax and lets us spot when something has changed.
