About Smart Creative Care
Smart Creative Care supports people in their own homes in Reading. We work with autistic adults and adults with a learning disability, people living with dementia, adults with physical disabilities and younger adults. Our starting point is what the person is trying to do with their life, not what a referral form lists as their needs. For some people that means practical help with cooking, budgeting, appointments and paperwork. For others it means someone alongside them to get out to college, work, the gym or into town, or a familiar presence in situations that would otherwise be overwhelming. We agree the plan with the person, write it in a form they can actually use, and change it as they move on. Consistency is what makes this work rather than cleverness. We keep the team going into a household small, give plenty of notice when somebody regular is away, and communicate in whatever way genuinely reaches the person, whether that is speech, symbols, writing or simply unhurried time. We work alongside families, social workers and health colleagues, and we would rather be told bluntly when we have misjudged something than have it noticed later. We are a newer team and have not yet had a full inspection of our own, which we would rather say plainly than leave you to find out. Please ask us searching questions before deciding.
