About Walfinch
Walfinch Oxfordshire supports people in their own homes in Wantage and across the county. We work with older people, people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, adults with a physical disability and younger adults. Home care should fit into a life that already exists rather than rearrange it. We begin by asking how the day usually runs, what has become difficult and what somebody can still do perfectly well and would rather keep doing. Plans written that way tend to stick, and they make the support feel like help rather than intrusion. Our visits cover personal care, support with medication, meals, help around the house and getting out to appointments or into town. For people managing poor mental health, the work is often less about physical tasks and more about reliability and keeping daily life on track. Covering a largely rural county means distances are real, so we build travel time into rotas properly and keep the same carers going to the same households. Continuity matters most where dementia is involved. A familiar carer who knows the house and the routine does more good in half an hour than a stranger could in twice that. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.
