About Golden Services Care
We provide care and support to people in their own homes in Wantage and across Oxfordshire. The people we work with are older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Our starting point is that the person we visit is in charge. It is their home, their routine and their decision. We are there to make something possible that has become difficult, not to reorganise a life that is working perfectly well in most other respects. Every arrangement begins with a visit and an unhurried conversation about what would genuinely help. From that we write a plan with the person, involving family or an advocate if they want them there, and we revise it as circumstances shift rather than leaving it to gather dust. We put real thought into who visits whom. A good match between a support worker and the person they visit is the difference between a rota and a relationship, and we would rather take a little longer over it than fill a slot quickly. For people living with dementia a familiar face and an unhurried manner do more good than anything else we could offer. Support might be personal care and medication, help with meals, housework and shopping, getting out to appointments or somewhere sociable, or respite so that a family carer can have a proper rest.
