About Right at Home
We provide care at home in Oxford and the surrounding area, supporting older adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss and younger adults. We put a great deal of thought into matching the carer to the household, and we treat that as central rather than sentimental. An hour with somebody you get along with is company. The same hour with a stranger working through a checklist is something else entirely, and people can tell the difference at once. We also keep visits long enough to be worth making. Rushed care is poor care and it is obvious to everybody except whoever designed the schedule. Where somebody's needs grow we reassess properly rather than bolting minutes onto an arrangement that has stopped fitting. Where sight or hearing has gone we agree how we will announce ourselves and every carer uses the same approach consistently. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with it and wary of what it can imply, since a rating covers a period rather than a promise. What keeps it true is the same attention to individual households that earned it.
