About Crossroads Care
We are Crossroads Care (Oxford), a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Oxford and the surrounding area. We work with people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment. A great deal of our work involves households where somebody is already doing most of the caring, usually a relative, and where the difficulty is not a lack of willingness but a lack of respite. Care at home only stays sustainable if the person providing it can occasionally stop. So we take that seriously and we plan around the household as a whole rather than around one person in it. That shapes the practical side too. We ask how things are usually done in this house and we do them that way, because a carer who works to their own method undoes a routine that has taken a family months to settle on. Continuity matters throughout. Sending the same workers to the same households is harder to roster and it improves care more than anything else, particularly for someone with dementia or anyone who communicates in a way that takes time to learn. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
