About LA Care
LA Care is a home care agency working in Didcot and the villages around it. We support people in their own homes, which for most of the people we visit is where they have lived for a very long time and where they intend to stay. Calls range from a short visit in the morning to help someone get up, washed and dressed, through to several visits a day covering meals, medication and getting safely to bed. We work with older people, with people living with dementia, with adults managing mental ill health, with people who have a physical disability, and with people who have sight or hearing loss. We also support younger adults, and there the emphasis is usually on fitting around work, study and family instead of building someone's week around care calls. Small things decide whether home care works. Turning up when we said we would. Sending people who already know the household, so the person is not explaining themselves again to a stranger. Noticing that somebody has not touched yesterday's meal and doing something about it. We try to get those right, and where we slip we would rather be told. Care plans are agreed with the person and with whoever they want involved, and they are theirs to change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
