About Abi-support
Abi Support provides care to people in their own homes in Didcot and across Oxfordshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have learning disabilities and autism, with people managing mental health conditions and with people who have physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment. Home care is largely a matter of small reliabilities. Arriving at the time we said. Remembering that somebody takes their tablets with juice. Knowing which neighbour holds the spare key and which room the cat must not get into. None of it is dramatic, and all of it is what separates support that works from support that people merely put up with. Our carers help with personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out of the house. We plan each arrangement with the person and whoever they want involved, and we keep the group of carers visiting a household small so that relationships have a chance to form and so that changes in somebody's health get noticed early. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet received an overall rating. We are open about that and happy to answer questions about our recruitment, training and supervision.
