We Care is a home care agency in Bicester, visiting people in their own homes across the town and the Oxfordshire villages around it. Most of our work is with older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. Covering a market town and a spread of villages means distances are real, so we plan rounds honestly rather than promising times we cannot keep. A visit arranged for a realistic hour is worth more than one promised early and delivered late. What we actually do is help with washing and dressing, medicines, meals, shopping, housework, appointments and getting out of the house. Where dementia is involved we take our lead from the family, who already know which words work and which part of the day is hard. Where sight or hearing has gone we agree in advance how we will announce ourselves, and we say what we are about to do before we do it. Where a physical disability is involved the work is often about equipment and allowing somebody the time to do a thing themselves. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no rating to offer. Ring us and we will come to the house and talk it through.
