About Advance
Advance Oxfordshire provides support to people living in their own homes around Banbury and the surrounding county. We work with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic adults, with younger adults and with older people. A good deal of our work is about enabling rather than caring in the traditional sense. The aim is somebody running their own home, managing their own money as far as they can, getting to work or college, keeping appointments and seeing the people they choose. We do the parts that genuinely need doing for a person and leave the rest alone, even when doing it ourselves would be faster, because taking over is easy and hard to undo. We match staff to people with care and keep those teams small and consistent, because the relationship is where the value lies. A support worker who understands somebody can tell when something is wrong long before it becomes a crisis. Where personal care or health support is needed we provide it thoroughly, working with GPs and community teams when specialist input helps. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk about support.
