The work covers washing and dressing, medication prompted or given, meals, moving safely about the house, laundry, shopping, appointments and time to talk without hurrying. For people living with dementia we hold to the same carers at the same times wherever the rota allows and follow the routines already in the household. Where sight or hearing loss is part of things, habits matter more than equipment. Saying who we are as we come in. Leaving furniture where it lives. Checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and actually working. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission.
