About Helping at Home

Helping at Home provides care and support in people's own homes across Newark and the surrounding parts of Nottinghamshire. We visit older people and younger adults. A call may involve help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medication, preparing a meal, shopping, laundry or keeping the house in order. For many of the people we see it also means a familiar face at a predictable hour and someone who notices how they are getting on. We support people living with dementia and build our rounds so that the same carers visit the same people wherever the rota allows, because familiarity settles somebody far more effectively than any technique. We also work with people who have physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, adapting how we communicate and how we work in a home so that help is safe and genuinely useful. Care begins with an assessment at home and an honest conversation about what would really help. The plan belongs to the person, family are involved when they want them to be, and it changes as needs change rather than waiting for a review date. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Please contact us if you would like to talk about care at home and we will arrange to visit.
