About Respectful Care
Respectful Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Mansfield and the surrounding parts of Nottinghamshire. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, and people whose physical disability or sight or hearing loss makes daily tasks harder. The name we chose describes the standard we hold ourselves to. Going into somebody's home is a privilege and it should never feel like an intrusion, so we take trouble over the small things, knocking and waiting, asking before moving anything, and doing things the way the person has always done them. The help itself covers personal care, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals and drinks, mobility, shopping, laundry and housework, and getting out to appointments. Some people need a short call each morning and others need substantial support through the day and evening. We keep the same carers visiting the same households wherever the rota allows, because home care depends on trust and trust depends on familiarity. Our staff are trained for the work they take on and supervised properly in it. We keep families in the picture and work with the GPs, community nurses and social workers involved.
