About Premier Community
We are Premier Community, a home care agency based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. We support older people and younger adults in their own homes, including people managing a mental health condition. Most people come to us because something has made daily life harder than it was and they would rather have help at home than leave the home behind. Our job is to keep that a realistic choice for as long as we can. Depending on the person, that might be a single call each morning or several visits covering personal care, medication, meals, getting about safely and keeping a household running. Supporting somebody with a mental health condition at home asks for consistency more than anything else. Some weeks go better than others. What helps is a carer who turns up as arranged, who does not take a difficult day personally, and who is not so easily put off that they disappear when things get harder. We try to send the same carers to the same households, we work alongside GPs and community teams, and we review arrangements as circumstances change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
