From those answers we agree the visits, which might be a single short call, several a day, or a longer stretch so that a family carer gets a proper break. We revise the plan as needs move. Support might mean help with washing and dressing, a prompt and a check with medication, a meal cooked and eaten with company, help getting safely about, or assistance with shopping and appointments. For people with physical disabilities the emphasis is often on safe transfers, equipment that fits properly, and as much independence as somebody wants to keep. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We prefer to say that plainly, and we welcome close questions about how we recruit and train our carers.
