About ICDS - Specialist Support Team
We are the ICDS specialist support team, working with adults in their own homes in Mansfield and across Nottinghamshire. The people we support are mainly adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. A good deal of our work is with people whose needs are complex enough that a standard home care visit is not what is called for. Complex support at home depends on staff who are trained for the specific person rather than trained in general, and on a team that stays the same. Someone with significant needs cannot be supported safely by whoever happens to be free that day. So we build a small team around each person, train them for what that person actually needs, and keep them. For autistic people and people with a learning disability, how support is delivered counts as much as what is delivered. Clear information, honest notice before anything changes and real choice about who comes into your home will head off most difficulties before they arise. Where somebody is having a hard time, we look at what is being asked of them rather than treating the person as the problem. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.
