About Standby Care
We are Standby Care, a home care provider in Newham supporting people in their own homes across the borough. We work with older people and people living with dementia, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to manage at home. Home care only works if it fits the life it is meant to support, so we start with a visit and a proper conversation rather than a standard offer. We want to understand what a person can still do and wants to keep doing, what has genuinely become difficult, and how they would prefer help to be given. The plan comes out of that, and it changes as circumstances do. What we provide might be a single morning call to help somebody wash, dress and get breakfast, or several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and keeping the household running. For some people the most valuable part of the visit is the company, and we treat that as part of the work rather than an extra. We keep the same carers going to the same people as far as the rota allows, train our staff for the work they are asked to do, and stay reachable when families need to speak to somebody. Please ring us if you are looking into support at home and we will come and talk it through.
