About Aspire Supported Living
Aspire Supported Living provides support in people's own homes across Newcastle upon Tyne. We work with older people, younger adults, people who have a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions or an eating disorder, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. Our purpose is to help people live the life they want in their own home rather than to run it for them. For some that means help with personal care, medication and daily routines. For others it means doing a weekly shop and cooking properly, keeping on top of bills and appointments, getting to a job or a course, or carrying on with something they have always done. We are careful about the line between supporting a person and taking over, because that line is easily crossed by staff who are in a hurry to be helpful. Many of the people we support have had unsettled periods and a number of moves, so reliability matters more than anything we could say about ourselves. We keep teams small so familiar faces turn up, and we aim to arrive when we said we would. We work closely with mental health, social work and health colleagues. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our own practice, particularly around choice and independence. If you would like to talk about support for yourself or someone in your family, we are happy to meet and explain how we work.
