About Via Vita Homecare
Via Vita Homecare is a home care agency in Mitcham, supporting people in their own homes across Merton and the surrounding part of south London. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people who have a physical disability. Almost everybody we meet at a first visit says the same thing: they want to stay where they are. Making that realistic, for as long as it is safe and genuinely the better option, is the whole of our purpose. The work is practical. Help with washing and dressing. Medication managed and recorded carefully. Meals cooked rather than opened. Help to move safely about a home that may no longer suit its occupant. A dependable person turning up in a week that might otherwise be empty. And a proper break for families who have been holding things together on their own. We send the same carers to the same households wherever we can. That continuity is the mechanism and not the presentation: a carer who knows somebody notices the meal left untouched, the new bruise, or the confusion that was not there a fortnight ago. For people living with dementia, familiar faces and an unhurried pace achieve what explanation cannot. For people with a physical disability we take the trouble to learn each individual's preferred way of being assisted to move, because the right method is specific to the person. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Call us and we will be plain about what we can do.

More about the care at Via Vita Homecare
Dementia Care at Via Vita Homecare
Explanation achieves little in dementia, this agency argues, while familiar faces and an unhurried pace achieve a great deal. That is the correct order, because most refusals at the door are a reaction to being rushed by somebody unrecognised. It also says a carer who knows a person notices the confusion that was not there a fortnight ago, which is how a decline gets caught early. Ask what dementia training the carers have completed. Ask how the agency handles a visit that is refused, and how the plan changes as the condition progresses.
Home Care at Via Vita Homecare
A proper break for families who have been holding things together on their own is part of what this agency says it offers, alongside the visits themselves. Home care means someone arriving at agreed times in a person's own house, which in London typically costs between £30 and £36 an hour. Merton will assess and may fund a package, though plenty of people arrange their own. The registration dates from October 2026, so there is no inspection report to set against the agency's own account of itself. Ask how visits are recorded, how often the plan is reviewed, and who a relative can reach at the weekend.
Older Person Care at Via Vita Homecare
Meals cooked rather than opened is one item on this agency's own list, and it is a better indicator than most of what a visit really contains. The rest is help with washing and dressing, medication managed and recorded carefully, help to move about safely indoors, and a dependable person turning up in a week that might otherwise be empty. Via Vita Homecare says it sends the same carers to the same households wherever it can. Ask how long each call lasts and how many different carers would come in a fortnight. Ask what can be covered in the evening, since overnight support in Mitcham would need a separate arrangement.
Younger Adults at Via Vita Homecare
Via Vita Homecare registered with the CQC on 20 October 2026, so there is no inspection record for anyone to weigh yet. For an adult under sixty five the question is whether support fits around work, study and a social life instead of organising the day. Ask whether call times can move with a timetable, and whether a small consistent team can be arranged.
Physical Disability at Via Vita Homecare
The mechanism rather than the presentation is how this agency describes continuity, and with a physical disability it shows in whether the carer knows your preferred way of moving. Transfers, personal care and help to get about indoors are the practical content, done without taking over what somebody can still manage. Ask whether carers are trained on the equipment in the house, and who arranges a review when needs change.
