About Initjames
We are Initjames, a home care agency supporting people in Rochester and across Medway. We visit people at home, at agreed times, to help with whatever has become difficult to manage alone. Most of our work is with older people. Our carers help with washing and dressing, getting up and settling at night, medication, preparing meals, light housework and shopping, and with getting out to appointments or simply for a change of scene. We also support younger adults who need help to live independently, whether that is a hand with practical tasks or someone alongside them while they build confidence. We keep our visits properly timed rather than clipped short, because most of what goes wrong in home care goes wrong when carers are rushed. We also try to send the same people each week. Continuity means personal care is less of an ordeal, and it means our carers know when a person is not themselves and can raise it with the family or the general practitioner early. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Rather than lean on a rating we do not have, we would encourage you to ask us how we recruit, how we train and supervise our carers, what happens when a call is running late and who you can reach out of hours. We are happy to answer all of that, and to visit and talk without any commitment on your part.
