About Thera North
Thera North supports people in their own homes in and around Grantham, Lincolnshire. Most of our work is with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, and we also support older people who want help to carry on living independently. Our starting point is that the person is in charge. We are there to make their life possible, not to run it. That means support is planned with them, in the way they understand best, and it means we ask rather than assume. Someone might want help with cooking, budgeting, keeping a tenancy going, getting to work or college, managing appointments and health, or just having somebody alongside them in situations they find difficult. Personal care is part of it for some people and not for others. We take communication seriously. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do tell us things, and we make sure every member of the team supporting them knows it too. Consistency matters enormously here, so we keep support teams small and settled. We also work with families, advocates and the professionals involved, though always on terms the person themselves is happy with. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection.
