About Thera East Midlands
Thera East Midlands is a home care agency based in Grantham, supporting people in their own homes across Lincolnshire and the surrounding area. We work with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people who have a physical disability and with older people. Our starting assumption is that the people we support are in charge of their own lives. Support exists to make a chosen life workable, not to manage someone quietly in the background. So we begin with what a person wants their week to look like and then work out honestly what help is needed to get there. For many of the people we support that means a tenancy of their own, control over their own money and food, and the ordinary freedoms that come with being an adult. It also means practical help with personal care, health appointments, cooking, travel and dealing with officialdom. Where someone has a physical disability we take real care over how we assist with moving, because the right technique is specific to the person. Lincolnshire is large and rural, and isolation is one of the biggest risks to the people we support, so getting out and staying connected is treated as part of the support rather than an extra. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of it and we would rather be judged on what the people we support say about us.

More about the care at Thera East Midlands
Home Care at Thera East Midlands
Home care is a purchase of hours, and the useful question is what a chosen week would actually require. Thera East Midlands is registered as a home care agency covering Lincolnshire and the area around it, from occasional help to daily support with personal care and running a household. Rates of £26 to £31 an hour are typical of the region, usually with separate prices for short calls, waking nights and bank holidays. Ask about minimum visit length, how distance affects scheduling and how cover is arranged when a regular worker is away. Ask whether Lincolnshire would fund part of the package after an assessment. The good rating awarded in 2021 is a starting point rather than a substitute for those answers.
Older Person Care at Thera East Midlands
Rural Lincolnshire makes isolation as much of a risk to an older person as any physical difficulty.
