About Medical Express (Domiciliary Care)
Medical Express provides domiciliary care to adults in Lewisham and the surrounding parts of south London. The people we work with include older people who need help to stay in their own houses, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, people living with an eating disorder and younger adults who need support to live independently. That is a wide range, and it only works because support is built around the individual rather than issued as a standard package. A morning call to help an older person wash and dress has very little in common with supporting somebody managing an eating disorder, and we plan and staff accordingly. The practical work covers personal care, support and prompting with medication, meals, household tasks, shopping and help to get out and about. For people with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we announce ourselves and explain what we are doing rather than working around them. Some of the areas we work in carry real stigma, and people have often had more experience of being judged than helped. We try to be straightforward and useful instead. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch.
