About Aurea Care
We are a home care agency based in Lewisham, supporting people in their own homes across this part of south London. We visit older people, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who need support with daily life. The support we provide is set by the person rather than by a standard package. A short call in the morning to help someone get up, wash and dress may be all that is wanted. Others need help with medication, meals, shopping and the running of the house, or several visits spread through the day so that staying at home remains realistic. We agree what is needed at the start, write it down plainly and change it when things change. Continuity is the part of home care that people notice most, and it is the part we work hardest at. The same few carers going to the same person means a familiar face at the door and somebody who will spot when a person is not quite right, which is very often the thing that matters. Living with dementia at home takes patience from everybody involved, and we would rather our carers had time to do things properly than rush through a visit. If you are thinking about care at home for yourself or somebody in your family, please ring us and we will talk it through with you honestly.
