Red Apple Care provides support at home for people in Loughborough and across Leicestershire. Our visits range from a short call in the morning to several each day, and for some households longer periods of support. What we do and when we do it is agreed with the person, not handed to them. For older people we help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, laundry, shopping and getting out to appointments or to see friends. We also keep an eye on the things that are easy to miss, a fading appetite, low mood, somebody less steady on their feet, and we raise them early with the family or the doctor. For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers visiting wherever the rota allows, work with the routine the household already has and avoid rearranging a home somebody knows well. We support adults with mental health needs, where turning up reliably and without judgement does most of the good, and people with a physical disability who need help to move safely. Where there is sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and always say who we are and what we are doing. Younger adults are supported around their own commitments.
