Compassion Care is a home care agency in Loughborough, supporting people in their own homes across Leicestershire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people who have mental health needs and with people who have physical disabilities. Because needs vary so much, we plan support one person at a time rather than offering a fixed package. We begin by sitting down with the person and anyone they want present, work out what the day and the week actually need to look like, and write the plan around that. It may be a brief daily call to get someone washed, dressed and safely started. It may be support with medication, meals and mobility, help with household tasks, or support to get out to work, study, an appointment or an activity that matters to them. Plans are reviewed when circumstances change, and we ask clients and families to tell us plainly when something is not working so we can put it right quickly. We keep the same small team visiting each person wherever we can, and our carers are trained for the particular needs of the people they see. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of it, and the better measure is whether our clients around Loughborough feel safe, respected and in control at home.
