About Advance Support

We support people in their own homes across Leicester and Leicestershire. Much of our work is with adults who have learning disabilities and with autistic adults, alongside people managing mental health conditions, older people, and younger adults moving towards independent living. We begin with what the person wants their life to look like rather than with a list of tasks. For many of those we support, our purpose is not to do things for them but to make it possible for them to do things themselves, and then to get out of the way. That covers cooking, managing money, getting to work or college, using the bus, and handling the everyday business that can be daunting on your own. Predictability is central to this work. Knowing who is coming and when, being told about changes in good time, and not having arrangements altered casually are often what separates a manageable week from a difficult one. We take that seriously because the cost of getting it wrong lands on the person rather than on us. We are not yet rated overall by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that than leave it unsaid. We are happy to be asked how we recruit, train and supervise our staff, and to be judged on what the people we support tell you about us.
