Safe
Medication administration records were not always accurate, and staff were not always recording the names or doses of medicines taken. Safe recruitment was not always in place. Where checks showed previous convictions, the provider took no action to assess the risk, and did not always seek two references. People told inspectors they felt safely cared for, and staff understood safeguarding.
Effective
People's needs were fully assessed and understood by staff. Food and drink preferences and dietary needs were recorded and followed. People had access to the healthcare appointments they needed. Staff were sufficiently trained.
Caring
Staff treated people with kindness, dignity and respect. Feedback from people and relatives about the care they received was positive.
Responsive
Care plans reflected people's individual needs. A complaints system was in place and people knew how to use it.
Well-led
Audits were not always effective and action was not always taken. The provider had not regularly audited certain areas and had not acted promptly when problems were found with medicines records and recruitment. There was no clear oversight of staff training records and when they might expire.

People told inspectors they felt safely cared for, and that staff were generally on time. Feedback from people and relatives about the care was positive.
