About Crisis North

Crisis North provides care and support in people's own homes in Lancaster and across Lancashire. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults. A good deal of our work begins at a point of pressure, often a hospital discharge or a sudden change at home, when families are least able to plan. We try to be quick and clear at that stage: what we can start, when we can start it, and honestly what we cannot safely cover. Vague reassurance at that moment does nobody any good. After that the work settles into something steadier. Help with washing and dressing, medication prompted or given, meals, moving safely around the home, laundry, shopping, appointments and proper unhurried company. We expect the plan to change as somebody recovers or as their needs grow, and we review it rather than leaving it in a folder. For people living with dementia we keep familiar carers at familiar times as far as the rota allows, and we follow the routines already working in that household rather than replacing them. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
