We are a home care agency working across Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the south west of Kent. All of our support takes place in people's own homes, which for most people is where they would rather be and where they feel most themselves. We work with older people, with people living with dementia, with adults managing mental health conditions, with people who have physical disabilities and with people living with sight or hearing loss. Younger adults are part of our work too, and their care has to sit alongside work, study and family rather than displacing it. Before anything begins we come out and talk. We look at how a day already runs, find out what somebody wants help with and, just as usefully, what they would rather keep doing for themselves. Independence given up unnecessarily is very hard to recover, so we do not take it lightly. We protect continuity of carers as far as we can. Trust in home care is built slowly, through the same person turning up and doing what they said they would, and it is the reason somebody will mention a worry before it becomes a crisis.
