Aspens Supported Living & Outreach is a home care agency in Tunbridge Wells, Kent (TN2 4QU).
About Aspens Supported Living & Outreach
We provide supported living and outreach across Kent for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including younger adults and older people. Supported living means the house or flat belongs to the person rather than to us. We come in to help with whatever makes living there possible, and the aim is always that somebody runs their own life as far as they are able to. In practice that means the unglamorous things that make independence real: managing a tenancy, dealing with letters and bills, handling money, shopping and cooking, keeping appointments, getting to work, college or wherever a person wants to spend their time, and having staff alongside when something feels beyond facing alone. Outreach can be lighter than that, a few hours a week with somebody who mainly manages but needs a hand at particular points. It works best when we are honest about what is actually needed rather than filling hours for the sake of it. Consistency of staff counts for a great deal in this work, particularly for autistic people, so we keep our teams as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are glad to discuss that openly. If you are looking for support of this kind, please get in touch.
