About Hever Care
Hever Care supports people in their own homes across Tonbridge and the surrounding part of Kent. Most of our work is with older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We begin with a conversation rather than a form. What can you still do for yourself. What has become difficult. What would you rather we left alone entirely. From that we agree a plan, write it in plain language, and change it when things change, because they usually do. Where dementia is involved we take our lead from the family, who already know which words work and which part of the day is hard. Where sight or hearing has gone we attend to the detail that is easy to skip, including how we announce ourselves at a door when the bell cannot be heard, and saying what we are about to do before we do it. Where a physical disability is involved the work is often about equipment, patience, and allowing a person the time to do a thing themselves. We try to send the same small group of workers to each person, because being recognised at the door is worth more than any policy. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and we will come out and listen first.
