About Enablement at Home
Kent Enablement at Home supports people in and around Sittingbourne, Kent, to manage well in their own homes. We work with older people and with adults living with a physical disability, and our focus is on helping people do as much for themselves as they can rather than doing everything for them. That approach shapes how we work. Many of the people we see have come out of hospital, had a fall, or found that something they always managed has become difficult. Our starting point is to look at what could realistically come back with the right support, whether that is confidence on the stairs, getting dressed independently, preparing a meal or getting out of the house again. We then work steadily towards it, at a pace that suits the person rather than a schedule. Where support is needed for the longer term we provide it willingly, with help around personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and appointments. The point is never to withdraw help someone needs, only to avoid taking over things they can still do themselves. We keep teams small so people see familiar faces, train our staff properly in moving and handling and equipment use, and work alongside therapists and community health teams so that everyone is aiming at the same goals. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us to talk things through.
