About Your Choice
Your Choice supports people in their own homes in Deal and the surrounding parts of Kent. Most of the people we work with are adults with learning disabilities or autistic adults, and many of them are younger adults building lives of their own. The name is not an accident. If the support does not follow what somebody actually wants, it is not support, it is management. In practice that means we start with the person's own plans rather than a standard package. Someone may want help getting to work or college, keeping on top of a flat, cooking, managing money, or getting out to see friends without an adult hovering nearby. Someone else may need a great deal more help with personal care and everyday routines. Both are fine. What we will not do is decide in advance which one a person ought to be. Consistency matters enormously here. Autistic adults in particular are poorly served by a rota that sends a stranger every week, so we keep teams small, introduce new workers properly and give people a genuine say in who supports them. We work closely with families where that is wanted, and we step back where it is not, which is just as important. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at support in the Deal area, get in touch and tell us what you are hoping for.
