Then we build a small, settled team around them so the person at the door is someone they recognise. Support can be anything from a short morning call to get the day started safely through to several visits covering personal care, medication, meals, mobility and an evening check. We are used to working alongside district nurses, social workers and family carers, and we try to make that coordination our problem rather than the family's. For people living with dementia, consistency matters more than anything else we could promise, so we protect it. Where we support younger adults or people with mental health needs, we plan around work, study, appointments and family life, and we try to be the dependable part of somebody's week.
