About Home Care
Kent Home Care supports people in their own homes in Canterbury and across the surrounding parts of Kent. Our work is quiet and practical, and it happens where most people would rather be looked after, which is at home. We visit older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and the ordinary running of a household, and we support people living with dementia, where the same carer arriving at the same time settles a day more reliably than anything else we could offer. We also work with adults who have physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults and people managing mental ill health, adapting how we communicate and how we work to suit the person in front of us. Every arrangement starts with an unhurried conversation at home, with family involved if that is what somebody wants. We ask what a person still wants to do for themselves, where help would genuinely be welcome and what we should leave alone. What we agree is written down clearly and reviewed properly when circumstances change. Continuity of carer is something we work hard to protect, because letting somebody into your home takes trust and a rota of unfamiliar faces wears that away quickly. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection, and we treat that as the level we are expected to hold. If you are considering care at home in Kent, please get in touch.
