About Blossom Home Care
Blossom Home Care Canterbury supports adults in their own homes in Canterbury and the surrounding villages. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, and people who have sight or hearing loss. Staying at home usually depends on a small number of practical things going right, so those are what we concentrate on. Help with washing and dressing, medicines taken as they should be, proper meals rather than whatever is easiest, the housework kept under control, the shopping done, and a way of getting out to appointments and to see people. We fit visits around the person's day rather than around ours, and we would rather agree a pattern we can genuinely keep than an ambitious one we cannot. Continuity is something we take seriously. Meeting an unfamiliar care worker at the door is unsettling for anybody, and particularly so for somebody living with dementia, so we build a small team around each person and let you know in advance when that has to change. We plan the support with the person and, where they want it, with their family, and we look at the plan again whenever circumstances shift. If somebody's needs outgrow what we can properly provide, we will say so rather than carry on regardless. Families are often the ones who contact us first, worried and unsure where to start. We are glad to talk it through, without any obligation, and to be honest about what would help.
