About Enablement at Home
Kent Enablement at Home supports people in their own homes across Ashford and the surrounding parts of Kent. The word enablement in our name is deliberate. Our aim is to help people do things for themselves wherever that is possible, rather than doing everything for them and quietly removing their independence in the process. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. The pattern of support varies enormously, from a single short call each day to several longer visits. Every arrangement starts with a proper conversation about what has become difficult and, just as importantly, what the person still wants to handle alone. That distinction shapes everything we do. We write down what has been agreed and revisit it as circumstances change, in either direction. We put real effort into continuity. Familiar carers make support far easier to accept, and they notice quickly when somebody is not themselves, which is often what prevents a small problem becoming a serious one. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking into support at home in this part of Kent, please contact us and we will talk it through.
