About Visiting Angels
Visiting Angels is a home care agency supporting older people in Welwyn Garden City and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire, in their own homes. Our work is focused rather than scattered. We support older people, including people living with dementia, who want to carry on living at home and need help to do it. That help ranges from a single call a day to several visits, and it covers personal care, support with medication, meals, household tasks, shopping and getting out and about. Home care only works if it is reliable, so we concentrate on two things above all. The first is sending the same carers to the same people, because a familiar face is worth a great deal and is close to essential for somebody living with dementia. The second is turning up when we said we would, which sounds obvious and is where a lot of home care falls down. We also think carers need enough time in the house to do the job properly. Care that is delivered against a stopwatch is not care, and rushing an older person is both undignified and unsafe. We agree what is needed with the person and their family, and we revisit it honestly as things change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk about what would help.
