About The Inclusion Project
The Inclusion Project provides support at home and in the community for people in Welwyn Garden City and across Hertfordshire. We work with adults who have a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, including older people and younger adults. Our purpose is in our name. Too many of the people we support have found that services keep them safe while quietly keeping them apart from everything else, and we think that is a failure rather than a result. So our work is about ordinary participation. Getting to a job or a course. Being part of a club or a congregation or a team. Shopping, cooking, managing money and appointments. Seeing friends without it having to be arranged by somebody else. We pay close attention to how people communicate, which is not always through words, and we take the time needed to get it right rather than assuming. Plans are written with the person, reviewed honestly and changed when they stop fitting. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. That judgement came largely from what the people we support and their families told the inspectors, which is the opinion that counts. We do not treat it as finished business, because standards slip quietly wherever nobody keeps looking.
