About Home Instead
We are the Home Instead office covering Watford and the surrounding part of Hertfordshire, providing care to people in their own homes. We support older people, people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. What we try hardest to avoid is the rushed visit that satisfies nobody. Care takes the time it takes, and the parts that matter most are often the ones that cannot be timed, such as noticing that somebody has eaten nothing since yesterday or sitting down for the conversation that will be their only one that day. We put real effort into matching carers to the people they visit, considering temperament and shared interests as well as skills, and then we keep that pairing steady. Families tell us consistently that this is what makes the difference, and for people living with dementia it is what keeps a day from unravelling. Where sight or hearing is poor we adapt our communication and check that aids are working. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
