About Connections Healthcare
Connections Healthcare provides care and support to people in their own homes in Stevenage and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We work with adults who have a learning disability or autism, people living with a mental health condition, and younger adults who want support to build independent lives. The point of good home support, as we see it, is to widen somebody's life rather than to manage it. So alongside the practical help with personal care, medication, meals, laundry and getting about the home safely, a great deal of our time goes on the things that actually make a week: college and work, seeing friends, managing money, cooking something you chose yourself, getting to appointments, and going out when you feel like it. How we work depends entirely on the person. Some people want a hand with a few specific tasks and would rather get on with everything else themselves. Others need consistent support through much of the day. We adapt how we communicate as well, because being properly understood is the foundation of everything else, and we pay attention to pace and predictability as much as to the tasks. Support is agreed with the person and with anyone they want involved, written in a form they can understand, and reviewed honestly rather than left to drift. We aim to send the same familiar faces to each household, because trust takes time to build. If you are looking into support for yourself or for someone close to you, please get in touch.
