About Be Humankind Care
Be Humankind Care supports people in their own homes in Stevenage and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. We visit older people and younger adults, people living with dementia and people whose physical disabilities make daily life harder to manage alone. What we do is shaped around the household rather than around our rota. For many people the morning is what matters most, help to get up, washed and dressed comfortably, breakfast made and medication taken properly. For others the difficulty is the evening, or the meals, or the shopping and laundry, or a longer visit so that a family carer can get out for a few hours. We plan our rounds so that the same carers go to the same homes. Familiar staff know where things are kept and what normal looks like for that person, which is how they notice quickly when somebody is eating less, sleeping badly or becoming unsteady. Very often that is what keeps a small problem from turning into a hospital admission. We agree the plan with the person and whoever they want involved, write it in plain language and change it when things change rather than waiting for a review date. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We would rather say so openly than have anybody assume otherwise. We are glad to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our staff and to answer any question before you decide.
