About Aliana House
We are Aliana House, a home care agency based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We support people in their own homes, working with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment. With that spread of needs there is no standard arrangement to offer. Our first conversation is about the person's ordinary day, what has become difficult and what they want to keep managing themselves, and the support is built from those answers and revisited as circumstances change. Continuity is where we put most of our effort. Sending the same carers to the same households takes more work to roster and it improves care more than anything else we could do. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are not themselves, and for a person with dementia a familiar face is often the difference between a visit that works and one that does not. We keep families informed and work alongside GPs, community teams and social workers. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and do not currently hold an overall rating.
